Client Server or Application Service Provider (ASP)? |
|
|
| The ultimate in flexibility is what we
at QualityConnectMD strive to offer. We feel that we are able to offer you an
option that fits your current needs and the flexibility to change in order to
meet your future needs. |
|
|
| Client Based Server: |
|
|
| Traditionally a practice was required
to purchase a server and have it reside at your office location. A client based
server allows you the ability to control the backup tapes and maintenance on
the hardware. As with any option you choose, the support and training
department has the tools to support and assist your staff with
QualityConnectMD. Our staff will work with you on the purchase and setup of the
server and offer professional insight for your practice's needs. Through a
secure Internet connection the support staff will have the ability to connect
to your server and diagnose problems that may arise. It is recommended that you
have a staff member that is familiar with the Windows networking environment to
troubleshoot problems and perform daily server maintenance, like daily backups.

|
| Application Service Provider (ASP): |
|
|
| The Application Service Provider (ASP) model allows
your staff to have access to our entire suite of software products via a secure
connection over the Internet. Virtually anywhere you have an Internet
connection you can have access to your database. |
|
|
| Below are some of the benefits of using the ASP
model: |
|
|
| 1. Reliable data backup |
| 2. Offsite storage of your data |
| 3. Upgrades are performed seamlessly behind the
scenes |
| 4. No need to worry about maintenance on the server |
| 5. If your practice grows you don't have to worry
if your server can handle it |
| 5. Predictable monthly cost |
|
|
| There is a per user monthly fee for the ASP model
to cover the costs associated with hosting the data and maintaining the server.
Compared to the substantial upfront capital investment in hardware and software
the ASP, monthly fee is an attractive option for most small practices. |
|
|
| If in the future you decide that your practice
would like to purchase a server and house your data onsite, just contact one of
our support representatives and we will discuss the process for moving your
data to the new server. |
